Certified Professional Midwife (CPM)/Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM)

 

What matters most:

  • For a CPM: NARM- credentialed or graduate from a midwifery education program accredited by the MEAC; For a CNM: registered nurse,  successful completion of a certified post-graduate program for nurse-midwives, and certified for practice by national examination and state license
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the provision of midwifery services in out-of-hospital settings (CPM)
  • Expertise in homebirths or in birthing center deliveries
  • Ability to remain calm during labor and delivery to reassure client
  • Sufficient physical strength to assist during labor and deliveries

Your new role:

Our integrative reproductive medicine and women’s health firm is looking for a midwife to provide obstetric and/or gynecologic care for expanding our clinical offerings. The midwife will provide medical care and treatment to obstetric/gynecologic patients during pregnancy and normal delivery and will instruct clients in proper prenatal and postnatal practices and infant care. This position requires exceptional professional judgment, sound verbal and written skills for communication with clients and other providers, and sufficient vision and hearing ability (with or without assistance) to effectively monitor patients. This unique position requires a self-directed, dynamic, and hands-on leader who can manage group prenatal care cohorts.

Position responsibilities:

  • Takes part in initial examination of patient, monitors course of pregnancy, advising on proper health practices, taking tests as appropriate, and reporting any complications to obstetrician.
  • Prepares clients and their partners for delivery; trains mothers-to-be in exercise, breathing, and relaxation techniques. Provides instructions in breast-feeding, if requested.
  • Attends and reassures patient throughout the course of labor, monitors the fetal condition, administers medications, notifies physician of prolonged labor or complications indicating need for possible surgical intervention.
  • Delivers infant and checks mother and child to ensure that they are responding normally.
  • During postpartum period, visits mother and child to give additional instruction in feeding and care of the newborn.
  • Facilitates group prenatal care cohorts in regards to pregnancy, labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care.
  • Provides information about family planning and performs gynecological services.
Obstetrician/Gynecologist

What matters most:

  • For a DO: – a doctorate degree in osteopathic medicine, a completed residency or internship, and previous experience as an osteopathic doctor; For a MD: BC/BE OB/GYN (preferred), Medical License Location: DC, MD, and/or VA

Your new role:

Our integrative reproductive medicine and women’s health firm is looking for an obstetrician/gynecologist who focuses on whole-body healing with or without conventional medication and will identify factors that inhibit the body’s natural healing process, perform palpation assessments, and use manipulative techniques (OMT), if required. In this position you should be able to accurately prescribe medication (as deemed appropriate) and measure results accordingly. This position has a strong focus on integrative therapies, whole-person medicine, and disease prevention specializing in health issues that are specific to women, such as reproductive, hormonal, and menstrual dysfunction,  pregnancy, fertility challenges, and menopausal symptomatology. This unique position also requires a self-directed, dynamic, and hands-on leader who can also co-facilitate group prenatal care cohorts.

Position responsibilities:

  • Discusses family planning/birth control options.
  • Provides pre- and postnatal care.
  • Performs labor/delivery procedures.
  • Assists people who have been abused or sexually assaulted.
  • Assists client to develop attitudes and lifestyles that prevent illness.
  • Uses manipulative therapy to correct and treat issues related to the muscles, bones, and other systems in the body (DO).
  • Collaborates internally with other healthcare professionals and seeks advice where appropriate.

Chiropractor

What matters most: 

  • Graduate of an accredited chiropractic program, Doctorate of Chiropractic, current license in MD and/or VA, and valid malpractice insurance.

  • Possesses a specialization or desire to treat prenatal clientele
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Has a working knowledge of common musculoskeletal conditions.

  • Ability to handle and lift clients.

Your new role: 

Our integrative reproductive medicine and women’s health firm is searching for a knowledgeable, caring chiropractor to assist clients with injuries and impairments of the neuromusculoskeletal system, especially those of the lower back and neck. This position will also aid pregnant people with pain/discomfort that they have not been able to manage themselves with such approaches such as stretching or wearing a pregnancy support belt. You will speak to clients to discuss injuries and health concerns, assess their physical condition and lifestyle, order tests, administer treatment, and provide advice about extended care and pain management.

Position responsibilities:

  • Conduct patient consultations by reviewing health and medical histories; questioning, observing and examining clients; and reviewing x-rays, as indicated. 
  • Evaluate patients’ neuromusculoskeletal systems and the spine using chiropractic diagnosis to determine neuromusculoskeletal and spine related conditions. 
  • Perform manual adjustments to the spine, or other articulations of the body, to correct the musculoskeletal system. 
  • Take a whole-person approach to treatment, using a combination of spinal adjustment and manipulation, stretches, exercises, therapies, and dietary changes to help clients manage their overall health.
  • Arrange for diagnostic x-rays to be taken when necessary. 
  • Analyze x-rays to locate the sources of patients’ difficulties and rule out fractures or diseases as sources of problems.
  • Educate clients on the quality-of-life benefits of routine chiropractic care. 
  • Provide a client with educational resources and a recommended course of treatment.

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

What matters most: 

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW), current state registration, certification, and license (MD and/or VA) as a LCSW.
  • Experience and desire to provide clinical treatment to people with ovaries in individual, group, and crisis intervention modalities.
  • Clinical experience and desire to work with complex women’s health conditions (PCOS, uterine fibroids, endometriosis, fertility, gender dysmorphia, and perinatal mood disorders).
  • Excellent clinical assessment, diagnostic, written, and verbal communication skills with a culturally diverse population.
  • Multidisciplinary team-focused collaborator.
  • Passionate about providing high quality care to BIPOC clientele.
  • Knowledge and experience with evidence-based practices, including trauma informed care framework.

Your new role:  

Our integrative reproductive medicine and women’s health firm is seeking a Licensed Clinical Social Worker to provide integrative behavioral health care to improve our client’s medical outcomes. The licensed clinician will possess excellent clinical skills, provide culturally competent behavioral health care using evidenced-based treatment models. In addition, you will establish and implement clinical treatment goals in collaboration with our integrative health care team. In this role, your knowledge and experience working with co-occurring diagnoses (chronic health conditions and mental health conditions) with emphasis on women’s health will be beneficial as you will also lead our ongoing support groups.

Position responsibilities: 

  • Serves as the lead for ongoing support groups (PCOS, uterine fibroids, endometriosis, fertility challenges, gender dysmorphia, and perinatal mood disorders).
  • Applies high quality, culturally-competent and appropriate treatment based on clinical diagnosis and assessment of the client’s presenting condition(s).
  • Accurately documents all clinical interventions, diagnosis, symptoms, presenting problems in the Electronic Medical Record.
  • Works with clientele to develop treatment plans and goals, based on social, emotional, and physical health needs.
  • Provides crisis intervention (when necessary) and conducts internal warm handoff assessments as needed.
  •  Incorporates health and wellness education and internal referrals to preventive care.
  • Works in collaboration with our multidisciplinary team members including external partners.
  • Coordinates care and communicates regularly with client’s care team.
